Iron On Transfer Experiment

My first iron on transfer experience went fairly well. Funny thing is I made the onesies now I just need to give them as a gift. I got the dog template from Anna Marie Horner's blog. I actually scanned a fabric I had and printed it out on fabric transfer paper. I suppose it would be considered the lazy crafters applique. I cut out the shape of the puppy and follow the paper's instructions. The flowers are from scraps of the paper that I just cut out and placed in the shape of a flower. I still have so many scraps left I could probably make 4 more flower shirts or onesies. Using this technique the possibilities are endless. I can't wait to try many many more. It pays to be creative when using your scraps you never know what you will come up with.
Another option would be to cut the paper with the cricut. I haven't tried it yet, but I will soon. How cute would that be to coordinate a first birthday onesie with all the other decorations based off of whichever cartridge you were using. That new once upon a princess cart or hello kitty. I also saw a picture somewhere of a new robot cartridge coming out this year. For all of you women who craft but don't sew this is the project for you.

Sour Cream Packets

These are too cute...however I did have ongoing adhesion problems on this one. If anyone knows what will hold these together please let me know. There are some good tutorials on these but basically you cut out a rectangle. I think I used 3 by 5 or so and you make a tube shape with the short ends together. Then flatten one end and adhere. Fill your pocket and on the opposite and you fold it perpendicular to the other end. I sewed the ends shut and as you can see the first part you glue(the tube) even popped open, but there is no way to sew that secion.
I also just used regular printer paper for this one because scrapbooking paper is just too thick for my adhesive. Plus they are just going to get ripped into. So here is what I did to get the pattern on regular paper. I scanned my cute paper and just printed my scanned paper so it took up the whole page. I suppose if you wanted to you could also just copy the paper as well, but I like having it saved on my computer before I cut into it incase I need it for future use.

Thats How We Roll

Seriously if you have never tried melting down broken crayons...it is so easy. I kept a baggie with broken crayons and when I had enough I melted them in muffin tins. They are so cute, would make a great inexpensive gift, and would be even cuter in fun shaped molds.
You melt them at 250 in the oven. Once they are done put them in the freezer and when they are frozen, they pop right out.
